About Us

Where it begins
BELLAURA was born from a belief that dressing well should feel entirely natural.
Founded in Copenhagen in 2023 by Laura and Andreas B. H. Rørdam, husband and wife and co-founders, the story begins with Laura. She has been drawn to aesthetics for as long as she can remember. Not just fashion, but the way a room or a dish is composed, the way light falls on a fabric, the way a well-made piece of clothing or furniture carries something a trend never quite can. She has an instinct for what is missing and a certainty about what is worth making. Andreas brings structure, precision, and the belief that a business built on genuine values is not only the right way to work. It is the only lasting one. Together, they created what they had always looked for.
A name with three meanings
Bel — beautiful, from the Latin and French roots woven through the Romance languages. Laura — a tribute from Andreas to the woman at the heart of the brand. And aura — the quality a person carries when they feel truly at ease, and the warmth they naturally bring to those around them. The third reading, bel avoir in French, speaks to the act of becoming: feeling at home in yourself, resting in your own presence.
Made for a particular woman
She values quality and understands craft. She appreciates the small things: authenticity, originality, the meaning behind a choice. She is ambitious and warm, present in her relationships, and she dresses for herself rather than for the room. She does not follow beauty, she simply lives with it. BELLAURA was made for her.
Our pieces are designed specifically for the feminine form, with details that reflect this at every level: chest darts in our t-shirts, elasticated waistbands in our trousers, and countless considered choices in between. Because comfort and form are not each other's opposites. In our view, they are equally essential. This belief shapes everything we make.

Two traditions, one sensibility
BELLAURA draws on two worlds that are rarely brought together.
From Scandinavia: restraint, honesty, minimalism, and the belief that nothing should be accidental. From Southern Europe: passion, craft, the willingness to care deeply about beauty, and the understanding that la dolce vita is not indulgence. It is a way of living. We are also drawn to the spirit of Art Deco, with its insistence that form is as important as function. To us, this is simply a natural requirement.
Our pieces are made in collaboration with carefully chosen European artisans. Our relationships with the people who bring BELLAURA to life — makers, craftspeople, partners, and our own team — are built on the same principles as everything else we do: respect, care, and a shared commitment to doing things properly. We believe the way a brand behaves is inseparable from what it creates.
Two traditions, one sensibility
When you wear BELLAURA, the question of what to wear is already answered.
Because what you have feels entirely your own. For a Tuesday morning. For a dinner that matters. For the moments that call for something considered, and the ones that simply happen. Our pieces move between occasions without effort, feeling as right at noon as they do at midnight.
Effortless, always. That is BELLAURA.
Our boutique is on Værnedamsvej 4A in Copenhagen, open Thursday through Saturday. The full collection is available at bellaura.com.
